Dominating Through the Gift of Faith
Visionaries Need the Gift of Faith
The gift of faith is a spiritual gift that visionaries need to have for them to dominate their destinies. The type of work that is required of visionaries will demand that they believe beyond what they can see. Some of the greatest visionaries decided to believe in something that others could not see at the moment. In 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, the gift of faith is one of the nine spiritual gifts Paul highlights. Having the gift of faith empowers people to believe and stand firm in what God has said even when everything else in the natural looks like the opposite. Visionaries must have full confidence in the dreams that God has set before them.
How Can You Mature in the Gift of Faith?
Understand how God speaks to you. The greatest foundation to growing in the gift of faith is that you need to know what God sounds like. You need to read your Bible. You need to be a person who is in constant communication with God through prayer. The gift of faith is hearing or perceiving the will of God and then believing what He told you would happen. You have to be confident in what God tells you to do as a visionary.
Be focused on your personal convictions. There are universal promises that all of us should have the faith to believe in, in accordance with the scriptures. Also, God will give you all your own convictions for your calling. What God tells you to believe is going to be different than what He tells your neighbor. You have a different calling, a measure of faith, maturity level, and personality! You will miss the vision that God wants you to step into if you keep comparing yourself to others.
Obey what He said. When you believe what God has said, you are then obedient to what He tells you to do. The key understanding of faith is being obedient to what He has said to you. You are not making up something to believe in. He will share with you what you should believe, then you come in agreement with what He has said. You are not claiming things that He never promised you. He has specific promises for you and there are promises that He has made all of us through the scriptures. Be obedient to what He has said so that your faith can grow.
Be patient. When you are impetuous, you miss the opportunity for God to develop you in the gift of faith. There are numerous examples in the Bible where people had to believe God for something that did not come to pass for years. If you are interested in instant gratification, you leave no room for faith to grow inside of you. Keep waiting and hoping for what He said will happen. Sometimes, you are put in a position to wait so that God can develop the gift of faith inside of you.
In every season of your life, you are going to be challenged to mature in the gift of faith. You need the spiritual power to believe beyond what you can see. The gift of faith enables visionaries to actively engage in their destinies, help others dream bigger, and live out the fullness of their calling.
